The Arizona Chapter of the Associated General Contractors (AZAGC) is proud to announce that Director of Governmental Affairs, Todd Wynn, has been appointed to the Arizona Public Service’s (APS) Resource Planning Advisory Council (RPAC). This appointment ensures that Arizona’s construction industry will have a direct voice in the long-term planning efforts of the state’s largest electric utility.

The RPAC was formed in early 2021 with a diverse set of stakeholders to collaborate with APS in the development of the Company’s 2023 Integrated Resource Plan (IRP). In light of the rapidly changing energy environment evident across the country and in particular in Arizona, RPAC infuses additional stakeholder participation and transparency into the IRP process. The Council plays a vital role in reviewing and advising APS on its integrated resource plans, which shape future investments in energy infrastructure and resource development to serve Arizona’s growing population and evolving energy needs.

Wynn will represent the interests of the construction sector—an industry deeply impacted by energy planning decisions. From utility-scale power infrastructure to distribution systems that serve new housing, commercial, and industrial development, APS’s long-term plans will have lasting implications for Arizona’s construction economy.

“I’m honored to serve on the RPAC and bring the perspective of the men and women who build Arizona’s critical infrastructure,” said Wynn. “The construction industry is not only a major consumer of energy but also a key partner in building the energy systems of the future. Ensuring our voices are heard in APS’s planning process is essential.”

Wynn’s appointment reinforces AZAGC’s commitment to being at the forefront of policy discussions that impact Arizona’s infrastructure and economic future.
