ERCC 16 hour Course

This comprehensive 16-hour training class objective is to give the participant a knowledge base on storm water pollution, regulations, and Stormwater Control Measures/Best Management Practices (BMPs).  The course will include potential storm water pollution sources and effects associated with construction activity.

The appropriate methods of erosion and sedimentation control will be presented as well as use of BMPs to control erosion and sedimenation pollutants discharged into waterways.  Post construction BMPs, inspection techniques and a checklist for inspections will be reviewed.  The class will conduct a mock inspection exercise and fill out the inspection forms using photo images to represent field conditions.  Maintenance of the BMPs along with a section on stormwater monitoring for construction sites within a 1/4 mile of an Outstanding Arizona Water (OAW)/Impaired waterways will also be presented.

The ADOT guidance manual for Erision Pollution and Control will be used along with course handouts.

Certificates with expiration dates will be issued at the end of the class.  These certificates along with your experience must be submitted to ADOT and approved in order to be listed as the Erosion Control Coordinator on the project.

ERCC Refresher Course

The objective of this comprehensive 6-hour training class to renew your certification as an Erosion Control Coordinator (ECC) by updating you on the new ADEQ regulatory and ADOT specific requirements.  It is designed to improve your overall knowledge and effectiveness in reducing storm water pollution.

The class will review ADOT's Individual Statewide Stormwater Permit, updates to the 2020 AZPDES Construction General Permit[KB1], the 2017 EPA-CGP, the New 2020 ADOT SWPPP Template and Sampling and Analysis Plan Template, and updates to ADOT guidance documents.  This course will also provide the opportunity to share and discuss experiences that you may have had in the field as an ECC on projects where the ADEQ construction general permit were required.

This course fulfills the ADOT ECC requirement for refresher training.  Certificates with expiration dates will be issued at the end of class.
